⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “Finally being heard”

For starters, this book is about a girl who was diagnosed with autism later in life — how she survived, how she masked, and what life looked like on the inside.
I have never felt so seen in something in my entire life.
I chose this book because for years I felt like I didn’t belong. I was always “curious George” because I asked too many questions. I cared too deeply, overthought everything for months, and had meltdowns that were mislabeled as postpartum depression, OCD, or anxiety.
No one listened.
Whoever the author is — I would love to meet them just to say thank you.
For the first time in my life, I feel heard.

This book is a profoundly personal and eye-opening account of navigating life on the autism spectrum without the guidance of a diagnosis.
Honest, insightful, and deeply validating — it captures the confusion, resilience, and self-discovery of trying to fit into a world that never fit back.
An essential read for individuals, families, and professionals seeking to understand autism beyond clinical definitions.

Easy to read, beautifully written, and blending memoir with self-help.
As someone diagnosed at 59, I resonated with so many real-life examples that brought clarity and comfort.
I’d recommend this book to:
anyone curious about themselves
anyone newly diagnosed or self-diagnosed
loved ones wanting to be supportive
